Year 1 - Apple and Pear 2019 - 2020
W/c 6th April
Hello everyone in Year One!
We hope you are all well and staying safe. As it is the Easter holidays, we will not be setting any more home learning until Monday 20th April, but carry on reading every day and practising your phonics and you may have a go at any of the other activities in your home learning pack or on the Year One home activities timetable you haven't managed yet. Look out for our weekly challenge, too, on our Facebook page.
There is a quick link below to Bug Club, Purple Mash and Phonics Play and we have added a file at the bottom of the page for each Year One Phonics group. There are also some links to reading and Phonics activities on our Curriculum page.
Have you had a look at the Woodland Trust site yet for ideas of activities over Easter? There is also a link to some Easter activities you can enjoy as a family. You can e-mail any photographs of activities you have completed to Mr Bell at email@example.com and he will add them to our Facebook page.
We hope you have fun playing some of the games and enjoy spending some time with your family over Easter.

If you complete any of the activities and want to share them, you can send photos to firstname.lastname@example.org and Mr Bell will upload them to the school Facebook page. We look forward to seeing what you have been doing!
Have fun, stay happy and safe!

*** W/C 30th March ***
Hello Year One! We hope you are keeping busy and happy at home and have managed to complete some of the activities in the home learning pack. Remember to read every day (there are lots of books for you on Bug Club) and practise your phonics in the Letters and Sounds booklet.
**OUR SCIENCE QUESTION WAS "WHEN WILL THE LEAVES GROW BACK ON THE DECIDUOUS TREES?"
HAVE A LOOK AT THE TREE AT THE FRONT OF SCHOOL (FILE ATTACHED). WE PREDICTED THAT THE BUDS WOULD OPEN INTO THE LEAVES. WERE WE RIGHT?**
**PLEASE SEE UPLOADED DOCUMENTS WHICH WILL HELP YOU TO LINK DIRECTLY TO WEBSITES FOR HOME LEARNING**
If you are having trouble logging into Bug Club, try again later.
Welcome to Year One!
We have sent home work packs that have different activities to complete over the next couple of weeks. Please ensure your child reads and practises phonics every day and there is a timetable (for guidance) and range of activities for your child to complete. Year One Team
Mrs Wilson is Pear Class teacher and Mrs Neate is Apple Class teacher. Mrs Naisbitt is our Teaching Assistant and will be working with both classes.
In Year One we learn through practical, creative play using the indoor and outdoor spaces. We look forward to a happy year where our children achieve their very best.
Our PE day is Wednesday and this term we will be taking part in indoor PE, so you will need a white t-shirt and black or navy blue shorts. You may wear PE pumps if you wish. It is best to keep these in school - we will send them home at half-term. Thank you.
The doors open at 8.40am and we finish at 3.00pm.
