Year One begin their four weeks of Forest School sessions on Monday 13th March - Apple class in the morning and Pear in the afternoon.

Welcome back everyone and Happy New Year!

This term we look forward to investigating the past 'within living memory' in History, finding out about everyday materials in Science and learning about Shabbat in RE.

Mrs Murray is Pear Class Teacher and Mrs Wilson is Apple Class Teacher. We are lucky to have Mrs Naisbitt (every day) and Mrs Ridgway (each morning) as our Teaching Assistants in Year One. Mrs Moss will be teaching in Apple Class on Monday afternoons and Mrs Thompson will be teaching in Pear Class all day each Friday. We all look forward to lots of fun learning throughout the year.

Our doors open at 8.50am, ready to start our learning at 9.00am, and home time for Year One is 3.00pm.

Pear Class have PE on TUESDAY and Apple Class have PE on FRIDAY; your child should come to school dressed in their PE kit on that day (white t-shirt, black or navy shorts and black trainers/pumps). If your child has pierced ears, could you please take the earrings out before bringing your child to school. Thank you.

READING BOOKS: Your child will be given a new phonically decodable reading book each Friday, which they will keep and read as often as possible at home, before returning it to school the following Tuesday. You child will also bring home a 'sharing book', which they will not be able to read on their own - this book is to read to and share with your child to develop a love of reading. Please keep these books in the plastic folder provided in your child's book bag (no back-packs please, as we have limited space on our coat pegs - thank you).

We will be doing lots of outdoor learning in Year One, so could you please bring in a pair of wellies to keep in school and ensure your child has a waterproof coat with them each day, as we use the outdoor space in all weathers.
